Financial Aid is available!

To address the great needs in this community for child care, nutrition, and education support, AND to have it actually be affordable, HSCLC created this non-profit organization that provides high quality programs with several financial aid options.  We work with each family individually to assess and address their their childcare
needs to their financial situation.  No matter what, we find a way for EVERYONE who needs and wants our services to be able to attend.

Your Options...

#1  Subsidy
Madison County Department of Social Services historically has been here to provide financial assistance with child care needs in this county.  This option was for parents who either work or go to school full time, and fit within the income level parameters.  Currently, there is a waiting list.  Before going any further, call DSS to get your name added to that list.  This way, in the future when funding has been restored, your family can be next in line to receive funds.

  • Call DSS at (828) 649-2711, ask for Nancy Messer.
Ask to be put on the waiting list NOW.

#2 HSCLC Community Scholarship Program
HSCLC has created its own 'credit for tasks' based scholarship program for those still in need of assistance with the Parent Fee portion of tuition.
If after checking with DSS and Smart Start, your family situation does not qualify you for assistance, you can make an appointment with Debbie at HSCLC to discuss the current possibilities with our Community Scholarship & Volunteer Program.

  • Call (828) 622-9575 and ask to speak with Debbie about the Scholarship Program.

#3  Fund-Raising at HSCLC

HSCLC  responds to the extreme budget cuts in child care by fund-raising with fun, family oriented community events.  Our enrolled families and staff participate (in at least one event per school year) and they benefit directly on their tuition bills.  Sign up to work shifts, help publicize, help generate ideas at a planning meeting, etc and share in the proceeds of the event.  Click Here for more information about our our annual fund-raisers:

Call (828) 622-9575 and ask to speak with Debbie about getting involved

    #4  Private Pay Discounts

For those who pay out of pocket (and do not qualify for subsidy or are on the waiting list), we have some 'SPECIALS!' for you.....

After School Program 'Sibling Discount' >  for those who
do not qualify for subsidy and/or are on the waiting list:  2 siblings may go for the price of 1!

Preschool & TK Program 'Sibling Discount' >
for those who do not qualify for subsidy and/or are on the waiting list:  the second sibling could receive up to $100 off tuition.

We have an unlimited Out of School Care Package for just $285 per month.  That's After School Program (2:45 - 6:15 Monday - Friday), all Snow Days, half-days, teacher work days, and our Holiday Camps.  That is less than $3 per day of use; that's a whole lot of care!

Inquire via email at:  info@hsclc.org  or call (828) 622-9575 and ask for Debbie
