race winners
It was a beautiful, sunny autumn morning in Hot Springs, NC... Runners gathered together at the Hot Springs Spa Resort at 9 am to run and support the HSCLC Community Scholarship & Volunteer Program. Six super fast children lined up on the French Broad River Bridge (also, the famous Appalachian Trail) to run the Kids 1 miler across the bridge and back. They were awesome! Congratulations to Andrew and Lily Smith, Keenan and Clarissa Cato, Jackson Newsom, and Walker Adamsom for running in support of HSCLC!
Next, the big people took off and within 18 minutes we could see the first place winners in view as they strode the final stretch to victory! Congratulations to Madison High School Cross Country Coach Andrew Wallace who came in first place in the Male Division and 1st place overall. Eleven year old, Logan Boyles came in second place overall and won the 7 - 12 yr. old division, followed close by Noah Allison winning the 13 - 17 yr old division and 3rd overall. The fabulous Brooke Hardin was the Female Division winner and Mr. Waverly Barnes won the 55 and older Division! It was truly wonderful to see all the love and support for our area children ... Thank you runners, sponsors, Event Coordinator Tina Sams, and the town of Hot Springs!
